(Windsor, ON) With support from the ACHF COVID-19 Enhanced Funding Grant, local filmmaker and theatre artist, Gemma Eva will be producing a new project presenting the talents of local aspiring filmmakers. The WINDSOR YOUTH SHORT FILM SHOWCASE is a livestream film screening showcasing a compilation of works made by young Windsor filmmakers from ages 13 to 24.

This is an opportunity to give young filmmakers a platform to present their films and to be recognized across the community for their work. The showcase will screen online for one week. Viewers will have a chance to vote via an online survey for a series of audience choice awards including “Best Production,” “Best Cast,” and
“Best Rookie Film” (for directors ages 17 and under). Nominations and awards will be announced via a live stream ceremony. All genres welcome!

To submit, filmmakers must be residents of Windsor-Essex, between the ages of 13 to 24 (at the time the film was completed). The film must have been made after January 2018. Filmmakers must submit a fine cut of their film, along with the submission package which can be found on the Windsor Youth Short Film Showcase website. Submissions are open from May 13 – May 20, 2020.

The Windsor Youth Short Film Showcase will stream online June 5 – June 12. During this time, audiences can vote for their favourite films for the Audience Choice Awards.

The award ceremony will livestream on June 19, 2020.
