Year after year, much of WIFF’s success relies on the commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers. This fall WIFF is returning to Downtown Windsor and presenting our patrons with an eleven-day festival!

Whether you are a previous volunteer, a festival patron, or an engaging member of the community, we hope that you’ll consider joining our team of volunteers for WIFF 2023. With a variety of roles to be filled, there is something for everyone!

The festival will run from October 26th to November 5th.

All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. The application deadline is August 11, 2023.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR VOLUNTEERS:

Sunday, October 1 – Volunteer Orientation (Mandatory)

Time(s): 6:00PM – 8:00PM (one session only)

Location: Capitol Theatre Windsor (121 University Ave W, Windsor, ON N9A 5P4)

Description: A detailed breakdown of the festival, including special events, key dates and important information.

October 14 & 15 – Volunteer Lockdown (Mandatory)

Time(s): 12:00PM – 4:00PM on Saturday, October 14 (session 1); OR 5:30PM – 9:30PM on Sunday, October 15 (session 2)

Location: Capitol Theatre Windsor (121 University Ave W, Windsor, ON N9A 5P4)

Description: After a brief festival overview, the Executive Director and Chief Programmer will be running through all film trailers, giving a sneak peek of each one and allowing all volunteers to gain an understanding of the product they will be showcasing at the festival. Food and beverages will be provided.

October 23 & 24 (Monday & Tuesday) – Volunteer Onsite Training & Venue Walkthrough

NOTE: Optional for returning volunteers, mandatory for new volunteers

Time(s): TBD (evening)

Location: Capitol Theatre Windsor (121 University Ave W, Windsor, ON N9A 5P4)

Description: An in-person, dry-run overview of each volunteer position in the respective venues. This includes a walking tour of the festival grounds.
