POSITION: Half-Course Term Appointment (seven weeks – subject to renewal) in Website Development for Illustrators

RESPONSIBILITIES
To instruct one half course (3 hours each week over 7 weeks) in Website Development for Illustrators in the Illustration Diploma program.
Experience in website development and design for freelance illustrators and artists. Expertise in template-based website set up and interface design considerations, as well as image optimization, domain registration and basic e-commerce transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Established artistic practice with expertise in website development for the promotion of a freelance illustration business is essential as is experience in teaching, especially at a post-secondary level. An interest in the future directions of illustration would be beneficial.
- Completed academic credential in the discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Previous teaching experience essential, preferably at the post-secondary level
- Minimum of 5 years visual art practice
- Excellent presentation, communication and human relation skills to interact effectively with the College’s diverse student and staff population.
- An understanding of and commitment to equity in education.
PROGRAM
The Illustration Diploma within the School of Creative Arts and Animation at Seneca College is unique in the province. A four semester, two year diploma combines traditional illustrative media, digital media and business skills to give the independent artist the skills necessary to succeed in the rapidly changing world of illustration.
