The Opportunity
The Trans Film Mentorship provides five trans and/or non-binary youth ages 18-29 with mentorship, training and paid work experience working on set of the feature film Something You Said Last Night, on location an hour and a half from Toronto, from September 7 – October 1, 2021. The film is written and directed by trans filmmaker Luis De Filippis. More info about De Filippis and the dedicated team behind this project below.
The Details
Mentees can apply to receive mentorship and work experience in one of the following departments.

Production Management Department (Mentor: Assistant Director)

Art Department (Mentor: Production Designer)

Costumes (Mentor: Costume Designer)

Makeup (Mentor: Key Hair and Makeup)

Camera Department (Mentor: Director of Photography)
Production will take place on location an hour and a half from Toronto where mentees will be provided with food and accommodation.
Prior to production, participants will receive preliminary training, meet their heads of departments and be engaged in the pre-production process. After working the production, participants will receive support with career mentorship and planning their next steps.
Outside of working directly with the keys of their respective departments, mentees will have a consistent workshop facilitator and coordinator in Anna Daliza, a trans woman, writer and educator. Anna will facilitate the workshops, coordinate placements and support mentees in making the most of their mentorship experience.
