Sing Canada Harmony grants scholarships to Canadian groups, Canadian citizens, and legal residents of Canada for vocal music education programs.


Choral Conductors, Chorus Directors & Music Educators:

Eligibility: Open to individuals who provide vocal music direction to choral groups and ensembles at the school and community level.

Criteria: Directs vocal music on a regular basis; preference will be given to new applicants, and those with limited musical training yet provide a minimum of weekly vocal musical direction during their organizational season

Award: To provide for choral director education at an approved workshop/seminar for choral directors (e.g. BHS – Harmony University)


Music Administration:

Eligibility: Open to individuals who serve at an administrative level within a community-based choral music organization, such as the Barbershop Harmony Society, Sweet Adelines International, Harmony, Incorporated, community singing organizations and school choirs.

Criteria: Current member of the leadership committee of a community-based choral music organization

Award: To provide for administrative training for elected positions within a community choral music organization (e.g. BHS – COTS – Chapter Operations Training School)


Vocal Music Students / Singers:

Eligibility: Open to any member of an organized choral music program

Criteria: Active, current membership in a recognized choral program; preference will be given to new applicants, demonstrating the ability to transfer experience and knowledge gained to other members of their choral group

Award: To provide for individual vocal training


Groups Working With Schools:

Eligibility: Open to those community-based vocal music organizations working with school students to promote and foster a singing culture

Criteria: Actively participating in a vocal music program at the Elementary, Middle, Secondary or Post-Secondary level on a regular, on-going basis

Award: To provide vocal music and/or music related items to support vocal music education within the school curriculum
