Senior Community Arts Program – 2026
June 17, 2026 — The Arts Council Windsor & Region (ACWR) is proud to announce the return of the Senior Community Arts Program for its third year, a free monthly program dedicated to empowering and engaging adults aged fifty and up.
This free program will run monthly, from June 2026 – December 2026.
Rooted in collaboration and community engagement, the program encourages seniors to actively participate in shaping programming, sharing skills, and building meaningful connections
This program is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
The program offers a combination of hands-on workshops and community-based Tea & Chats hosted by professional community members. Building on the success of the past two years, the program continues to support senior wellbeing, reduce social isolation, and foster community through arts and culture.
Workshops provide hands-on creative learning opportunities led by professional artists and arts educators, encouraging skill development, artistic exploration, and social connection. Tea & Chats are a monthly conversation series that brings seniors together to connect and share experiences around arts, culture, and community.
In addition to its in-person programming, the Senior Community Arts Program features the Senior Spotlight, a dedicated section in ACWR’s weekly ArtsNotes newsletter and online calendar that promotes senior-friendly arts, cultural, and community activities throughout Windsor-Essex. Together, these initiatives help seniors discover local opportunities, stay engaged, and build lasting connections within their community.
Whether you are interested in exploring new creative practices, meeting new people, or becoming more involved in your community, we invite you to join us throughout the year.
