Our Self-Directed Artist in Residency
The artist is provided with accommodations in our Teano Suite which is a one bedroom suite with an office space, private kitchen, bathroom and living room at the Caetani Centre in Vernon, BC . A detached studio in the backyard is also available at the added fee of $6/night and suitable for visual artists.
This residency is a multi-faceted experience that will include opportunities for teaching, community outreach, interaction with other artists, and studio care, and, for longer stays, can culminate in a solo exhibition of new work. Because of Covid we may need to be creative to meet these expectations.
Duration of residency
The Teano Suite is only available for three or six month durations. For shorter stays check out our Caetani Suite AIR program
Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
This residency program is open to emerging and established writers, visual artists and any other kind of artist and creative we are able to accommodate. If you’re not sure, please get in touch before applying.
Accommodation
The Self-Directed program includes a private furnished suite at the Caetani Centre with kitchen, bath and common areas.

- Double occupancy can be considered. No pets or children, please.

- Parking for one vehicle onsite
- Bed linens, towels, and cleaning supplies are provided by the Centre.
- Coin operated laundry onsite
- Access to Internet
- Artists are responsible for their own travel, health insurance, food requirements, materials, equipment, and should have their own transportation.
- The Caetani Centre does not provide daily cleaning of the studios or rooms, or daily meals.
- Residents are expected to maintain their studio spaces and room
