City of Mississauga – Request for Proposals for Rainbow Cross Walk or Ground Mural

The City of Mississauga invites Canadian professional artists or artist teams who self-identify as 2SLGBTQ+ to submit proposals to create an original Rainbow Cross Walk or Ground Mural for Mississauga’s downtown, Civic Centre area.

Artists are asked to propose artwork that creates a sense of belonging for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and that engages community in its creation or design. The Rainbow Cross Walk/Ground Mural should be a unique and community-informed design that contributes to making Mississauga a welcoming and inclusive community for all residents and visitors.

The selected artist will be expected to complete the creation and installation of this Rainbow Cross Walk/Ground Mural for an unveiling at the end of June 2021.

The total budget for this project is $16,000.
