Selected works will be published in the book QUEER PANDÈMIA – Artistic contamination of an-other kind, published by Edizioni TLON and TWM Factory; some of which may also be selected for the second edition of ULTRAQUEER, an exhibition to be held in June 2023 at BASE Milano during the pride month.

We long to celebrate the birth and proliferation of new and more queer identities and practices invading media, relationships, and social spaces. We will make ourselves a pandemic/we will make a pandemic out of ourselves by re-claiming places, bodies, and narratives.

Through the call, we want to show how extensions of the body – of identities, of sexuality – create new ways of making oddkin, drawing inspiration from the animal, vegetable, alien and cybernetic world; we are looking for pieces that express a person’s identity as an external manifestation of itself, an outgrowth of its own body.

Unusual works that represent seemingly foreign and frightening practices, behind which tools and techniques to conquer spaces of representation in society stay covert.

If you are an author, apply by sending an abstract from January 25th, 2023, to February 28th, 2023.

If you participate by presenting an artwork or an artistic project, submit the application from January 25th, 2023, to March 26th, 2023.

+ Artists, designers, photographers, architects, illustrators, and all those working in the visual or performing arts and creative and cultural industries can participate by submitting a work or project with their CV/resume and portfolio.

+ Curators, critics, researchers and writers can participate with a critical text they authored, submitting an abstract of the same and their resume. This is a public call aimed at under-36 artists and authors nationally and internationally.
