Stefan Cvetkovic (Datsunn)

Datsunn is a multidisciplinary artist and producer based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Drawing inspiration from legends like Roy Ayers and Lewis Taylor, as well as contemporary artists like J Dilla and 9th Wonder, Datsunn combines his love of funk/soul musicality with his classic hip hop

sensibilities to create genre-defying music. His dense collection of solo work slaps on its own accord, but he is most at home creating a stimulating fabric for his friends and collaborators to join and weave into. Through his past journeys in a wide range of musical projects, Datsunn has had time to craft and refine his taste and creative approach, resulting in a renewed passion for production that manifests in his impressive artistic evolution. The excitement surrounding his recent work is evident, but the real beauty lies in the anticipation for what’s to come.

Breakout Session:

During his breakout discussion, he plans to go through a step-by-step process of how sampling works. From the beginning stages of picking a vinyl record to sample, to finding that exact part of the song you’d want to sample and then recreating it, or “chopping it up” in his digital computer based controller to create a brand new piece of music.
