WHAT DOES ACWR MEAN TO YOU?

“40 years of ACWR means 40 years of support, resources, and services for individual artists, arts communities and organizations…”

Working first-hand with the Arts Council of Windsor Region has enabled me to see all the work they do in promoting the arts in different disciplines along with providing professional development workshops for the public. The space has allowed emerging and established artists to showcase their works for all to see, and to connect with the community.

My very first solo exhibition was at the ArtSpeakGallery. I did not even get that chance while I was studying Visual Arts and Communication, Media, and Film at the University of Windsor and I will always be grateful for having given the opportunity to show the work I have created throughout my undergrad. I am so excited about the membership shows every year and is such a great way to see all the talent throughout the Windsor-Essex Region. I will never forget selling one of my framed watercolour paintings from windsor HEAT to a guy in Indiana, who was visiting Windsor for the weekend – he bought my painting of the riverside to remember his trip!
