Meaghan Sweeney is an artist from Tecumseh, Ontario. She is currently in her final semester at University of Windsor for Visual Arts. She applies mixed media techniques using inks, watercolors, collage and acrylic paint to her work to evaluate chaos and structure. Her practice is a manifestation of the experience of the psychiatric disorders: Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Depression. It brings to light abstract emotional hurtles most people must face regardless of mental health. The work has an emphasis on expressing vulnerability to promote individual and community healing through normalization of struggle. She has participated in the Windsor Zine Fair, 2018, TARTS Festival 2017, 2018 and 2019 and Windsor Essex for Youth fundraiser, 2020. She received a certificate in Beaux-Arts from College Boreal in 2016. She hopes to engage and support the community of Windsor through art.
