Since I am a visual artist, for me, one of the most rewarding parts of being a member at the ACWR is to be able to design and set up my art show at ArtSpeak Gallery by given full support and assistance of the directors and coordinators.

In addition to this, I have found the workshops and networking opportunities offered by the ACWR are fundamental in my artistic development. Many thanks for the detailed access to online resources which includes much important information on upcoming grants and funds. I am looking forward to seeking out for help in grant writing offered by ACWR. The website is full of information and the Arts Notes Newsletter is always a great source to learn about the upcoming events in the city. Also I would like to mention that I greatly appreciate the staff’s hard work and effort on their continuous collaborations and conversations not only with other galleries but, with other art forms, such as theatre, music and performance in our community.

ABOUT THE ARTIST – Nora Harvey is a self-taught visual fine- artist who works in her home studio in Olde Walkerville, Windsor Ontario Canada. Growing up in Europe, she discovered her passion for art spending countless hours sketching and painting. The subject of Nora’s art is always the journey of life. She approaches the process intuitively, beginning with a solid textured background which develops into an idea by drawing, painting and sculpting the paint onto canvas. She is known for the abstract celebrations of her admiration for textured surfaces and rough contours uniquely sculpted, three dimensional oil, acrylic and mixed media on canvas.

Nora’s Abstract, Abstract Landscape and Impressionism style paintings are inspired with the movement of contemporary creations through a multitude of influences and inspirations. For the past fifteen years, she has engaged in drawing, painting, printmaking, computer rendering, sculpting and mixed media techniques. For further information please visit her website at
