WINDSOR, ONTARIO – The Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County is inviting Windsor-Essex residents to help define the look of the 45th annual Carrousel of the Nations Festival. Artists and designers from across the county are encouraged to create works that capture the spirit of the celebration, embody our community and incorporate this year’s theme: “Your Passport to the World”
Carrousel of the Nations Chair Allison Johnson shared the project’s vision and hope; “We are so proud each year to showcase the diversity of our region and celebrate our many unique cultures. For our 45th anniversary, we are tapping into the creative diversity that exists in the region and calling on residents to submit artwork to be used as the graphic identity of Carrousel 2020.”
Artwork can be created in any medium, in any style, and by any individual or group residing in Essex County. Entries should communicate the theme of Carrousel of the Nations 2020; “Your Passport to the World”.
Submissions are being accepted through March 9, 2020, with a selection jury making its final decision before the end of the month. One winner will be chosen to work with the Carrousel team to produce material including posters, advertisements, and promotional pieces for the 45th annual Carrousel of the Nations Festival in June, and will receive a $1000 honorarium.
“Creativity has always been a hallmark of Carrousel,” added Johnson. “We are confident this competition will result in a unique and imaginative visual design that will showcase our festival and celebrate our participants, our sponsors, and our community.”
The competition is being presented with support from the Arts Council Windsor & Region.
