ISSUE 2: ACROSS GENERATIONS
In our inaugural issue of “Entrances & Exits”, the question that many of our contributors kept coming back to was a refrain we are asked all too often: “where are you from?”
But for Issue 2, we want to go deeper. We want to know – “who are you from?”
Tell us the stories of your ancestors. Of your lineage. Of the blood that courses through your veins. Of the memories and stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. And how all of that influences your present.
We want to hear the stories of those who came before you, who laid the groundwork for where you are now, and who fundamentally shaped who you are today. How have the experiences of your family throughout the generations impacted your present-day reality? How has that shifted the lens through which you view our world? How has all this shaped your identity?
We invite you to open up these conversations with your loved ones, your parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, children, and grandchildren and capture that in your submission. We want to weave stories with voices from across generations – literally.
These stories often come with struggle and with hardship. But our ancestors are more than that. We and our ancestors are more than that. We are healing. We are overcoming. We are triumphant.
We are our ancestors’ wildest dreams.
