The Arts Council Windsor & Region is seeking a Community Coordinator to assist in the development and delivery of a program exploring the power of art for community building and social connection.

The Community Coordinator will be the main liaison and point of contact with the senior community, for whom this program is being developed. Their input will determine the specific topics that will be addressed through the program. 

Job Description: The Community Coordinator will assist in workshop implementation, meetings, volunteer sessions, will help to coordinate a series of coffee and conversation sessions, and will help to coordinate a final exhibition at ArtSpeak Gallery. Senior participants will be at the forefront of the planning scope and their input will be gathered through conversation and surveys that will be delivered at the beginning stages of the program. 

  • The successful candidate will have an active creative practice which will infuse the program with their insight and guidance. A creative practice can be any of, but not limited to, the following areas: visual arts, drama/theater, or music/performance.
  • This is a grant supported position, with priority given to applicants who identify as seniors. 
  • The successful candidate will be confident in a group setting and have an interest in learning.
  • The program will require the successful candidate to have a flexible schedule. 
  • Previous experience volunteering or assisting with event planning is considered an asset. 
  • Knowledge of multiple languages is considered an asset. 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be the key point of contact for a Senior focused program. 
  • Respond to general inquiries about the program and Arts Council Windsor & Region services. 
  • Assist in coordinating supplies and set up for activities and events
  • Lead outreach actions to invite participation in the program
  • Maintain notes and surveys relating to the program at all stages of its development
  • Introduce special speakers or guests to program participants
  • Help participants engage with overarching themes throughout the program 

 

Compensation: 

This position is part-time. The pay rate is $18hr for 10 hrs per week for 6 months. This is not a salaried position.

This is a grant supported position, with priority given to applicants who identify as seniors (age 55+).
