The Arts Council Windsor & Region is hiring for 3 Contract Positions supported by Canada Summer Jobs. Each position is an 8 week contract. Each role is 30hrs a week at 16.55/hr. The positions require both in-person and remote work. 

 

Position 1: Administrative Assistant (#4555039)

Starts as soon as 2024-05-21

The Administrative Assistant will support the Executive Director and the Outreach Coordinator in the preparation of a commemorative document celebrating the organization’s 45th anniversary. Specific tasks will include collecting and digitizing information, conducting historical research, establishing contact with past staff and board members, participating in planning meetings, general office and gallery duties, and ultimately working as a team member with all Arts Council Windsor & Region’s staff and volunteers.

 

Ideal Skills & Qualifications

  • Digital proficiency in Google Suite, photo editing software and Canva
  • Experience working with archival materials, knowledge of best practices when handling artwork and cultural materials, and experience cataloging data would be an asset
  • Confidence engaging with the public
  • Operates in an organized and timely manner

 

Position 2: Assistant Art Gallery Administrator (#4555064)

Starts as soon as 2024-06-17

The Gallery Assistant will be responsible for assisting with online and on-site cultural events; assisting with

front-line communication (phone, email and in-person); assisting with the coordination of programs that provide

professional development services to artists, newcomers, youth, seniors and persons with disabilities; for creating and posting content on social media platforms; assisting in fundraising and grant support and applications; general office and gallery duties, and ultimately working as a team member with all staff and volunteers at the Arts Council Windsor & Region.

 

Ideal Skills & Qualifications

  • Digital proficiency in Google Suite and Canva
  • Knowledge of best practices when handling artwork and maintaining a gallery space
  • Confidence engaging with the public
  • Operates in an organized and timely manner
  • Experience delivering programs and services to the community

 

Position 3: Social Media Community Manager (#4555067)

Starts as soon as 2024-07-02

The Social Media Community Manager will be responsible for creating and posting content on social media platforms; assisting with online website communications and updates; assisting with front-line communication (phone, email and in-person); assisting with the marketing and dissemination of programs that provide professional development services to artists, newcomers, youth, seniors and persons with disabilities; general office and gallery duties, and ultimately working as a team member with all staff and volunteers at the Arts Council Windsor & Region.

 

Ideal Skills & Qualifications

  • Digital proficiency in Google Suite, photo editing software, Canva, Instagram, Facebook, WordPress, MailChimp and Hootsuite
  • Experience working with archival materials, knowledge of best practices when handling artwork and cultural materials
  • Confidence engaging with the public
  • Operates in an organized and timely manner
