My art practice is process oriented, with an emphasis on experimenting with materials, tools, and techniques. I am drawn to working with metal and charcoal because of the physicality of these materials. I often use landscape as a subject matter to convey my concepts of self-expression and the inner landscape. Using metal and car parts as my supports help create my vast, spacious landscapes and moody atmospheres. This is conveyed using fast, gestural mark making; that feels natural and are made intuitively, becoming a form of meditation for me. I use car parts to explore the connection between automobiles and the landscape they travel through, two subjects that are so closely intertwined; amalgamating them in an unconventional way to capture a moment of beauty and peace.
