Grant Therapy w/ D St-Amour | Professional Development Workshop
November 5 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Join D St-Amour on Wednesday, November 5th @ 5:30pm for Grant Therapy, a focused workshop and discussion space for artists seeking support in articulating their projects for grant applications. Participants are invited to bring a project idea they hope to fund, along with a draft application (in any state), or a past grant application. Together, we’ll discuss strategies for approaching funders, clarify what granting bodies are looking for, and work through the challenges of translating our practice into accessible language. This session emphasizes clarity, specificity, and alignment between ideas and writing, offering a supportive space to reflect on how we describe our work within institutional contexts.

D St-Amour (they/she) is a writer, curator, and editor with two decades of experience writing and editing grants across the arts. They have supported individuals and institutions as both an arts worker and a freelance consultant, working with artists, dancers, musicians, drag performers, theatre makers, and cultural organizations. Their curatorial and directorial work includes roles at Art Metropole, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and SBC Gallery, alongside regular contributions to C Magazine, Esse, and BlackFlash. They hold an MA in Art History and Visual Culture from York University and an MLIS from Western University.
