Would you like to know the secrets of attracting butterflies into your garden?

We are so excited to be hosting our own local naturalist expert Dan Bissonnette for Shared Sanctuaries: Opening our Hearts and Homes to Butterflies!

This workshop will be held over Zoom May 5th from 6:30-7:30p.m.
The presentation will explore:
– The diverse species of butterflies that are found in Windsor and Essex County as well as the unique habitats they depend on.
– The symbolism and significance of these fascinating creatures.
– Garden ideas that will help us to attract and support butterflies
– Opportunities for discussion will be available as well as an information handout

About Dan:
Dan has an educational background combining his two passions: horticulture and ecology. He is a passionate speaker and educator who has taught these subjects for over 25 years.
He has served as the Program Coordinator of the Naturalized Habitat Network where he organized courses and workshops related to naturalized gardening, attracting wildlife and other aspects of natural heritage.

He is also an accomplished writer who began his inspirational column “Nature’s Mirror” in the 1990s writing for the Tranquil Planet newspaper for 5 years. He is also the author of 3 books including “The Pawpaw Grower’s Manual for Ontario.”
