
More than five years in the making, Redwork: The emperor of Atlantis, is a community textile installation integrating embroideries by over two hundred and fifty individuals, led by artist, professor and 2023-2024 HRG Fellow Catherine Heard. In this talk, Heard reflects upon the evolution of the piece and provides insights into the ties between textiles, protest, and revolution and the importance of the work of the hand in the emerging age of AI
