InterAccess is a non-profit gallery, educational facility, production studio, and festival dedicated to emerging artistic practices that engage technology. InterAccess’s mission is to expand the cultural significance of art and technology by fostering and supporting the full cycle of art and artistic practice through education, production, and exhibition.

Job Description:
This is a part-time (21 hours per week) position expected to begin Monday December 14th, 2020 and end February 28th, 2020. This role requires frequent evening and weekend work.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Digital Communications Assistant will support the delivery of educational programming, support partnership and outreach efforts, and create content for InterAccess’s and Vector Festival’s websites. In addition, the incumbent will work closely with InterAccess staff to support digital communication initiatives, including updating our YouTube presence and supporting social media announcements.
Key duties:
Digital Communications:
-Create and edit pages on interaccess.org and vectorfestival.org to ensure websites are up to date and reflect the full breadth of past programming offered
-Update InterAccess’s YouTube presence to support greater virtual engagement and public access to resources by:
       -Developing a standard format for event documentation
       -Reviewing past event documentation and updating video files for public presentation
       -Captioning video recordings of panels, lectures, performances, and other events
       -Selecting and uploading content for YouTube
-Assist with the development of promotional and fundraising materials for Vector Festival 2021
-Support and maintain the organization’s visual branding
-Assist with the development of content for social media and our bi-weekly newsletter
Event Support / Community Engagement:
-Provide administrative and technical support in the planning and delivery of our educational programs
-Support sponsorship outreach efforts for programming, in-kind donations, and special programs; reach out to partners and local businesses to develop new relationships to support the presentation of artwork in public spaces
Administration: 
-Support the digitization of files to improve file access for staff while working remotely
-Other general duties as assigned
Requirements:
To meet Canada Summer Jobs requirements, applicants must:
-Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
-Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
-Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
-Please note, international students are not eligible participants.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
-Be currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline, or have recently completed undergraduate studies (with a BA/BFA/BDes or related);
-Superior verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills;
-A high level of self-direction and initiative with strong time-management abilities;
-Working knowledge of web languages (HTML and CSS) and WordPress
-A high degree of familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premier; past experience editing and captioning video files;
-Excellent organizational skills;
-The ability to take initiative and manage deadlines and a diverse set of responsibilities.
Work Location:
InterAccess is currently operating with reduced hours as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, this position will begin with a mix of remote and in-office work. InterAccess will continue to monitor the situation, and when it is safe to do so, may increase in-office activities and programming, at which time this position would transition to increased in-office hours.
Hours of Work:
This position is a seven-week contract, working 21 hours/week. Frequent evenings and weekends will be required.
Compensation:
$16.00/hour
