CRAFT ONTARIO BOARD OF DIRECTORS CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Craft Ontario invites nominations from the membership for five (5) vacant positions on the Board of Directors.
Craft Ontario is currently seeking candidates who are passionate about its mandate and future vision. New board members will draw on a range of experience, skills and an interest to contribute to the vitality and well-being of the organization. They will serve as ambassadors for the organization, have governance experience, and offer leadership, insight, and support as members of the Board of Directors.

Following an internal assessment of current Board member skills and demographics, key areas of intentional recruitment have been identified to enhance its ability to lead the organization in the coming years. The Craft Ontario Board of Directors is particularly interested in welcoming dynamic individuals with a combination of lived experience, professional skills, and attributes:

- 18 to 54 years old
- BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Colour)
- Persons with disabilities
- Possessing a second language, in addition to English
- Born outside of Canada

The Nominations Committee receives and reviews nominations, conducts interviews with candidates, and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors, which then seeks approval from the Members of the Organization at the Annual General Meeting. Positions are for a two-year term, with the ability to renew for a maximum of three terms, totaling 6 years. Board of Director terms commence following the Annual General Meeting.
The timeline is as follows:
- March 17 – Deadline to receive nominations
- April – Candidate interviews
- May – Recommendations to the Board
- June 21 – Election of new Directors
