City of Mississauga – Call to Emerging Artists
Sculpture Court Skate Park Murals

DEADLINE: Friday, March 22, 2019 by 4:00 p.m. EST

The City of Mississauga invites emerging artists residing in Mississauga to submit expressions of interest to paint a series of temporary public art murals. Working under the guidance of a professional mentor artist, emerging artists will create a series of murals at Sculpture Court Skate Park at Mississauga Civic Centre, gaining valuable professional experience and a paid mentorship opportunity in the process.

Each emerging artist selected for this project will be responsible for re-surfacing, designing, and painting one of nine mural panels and for attending a workshop with an established mural artist. These murals will be completed during National Youth Arts Week (May 1-7, 2019), providing an opportunity for emerging artists to celebrate and showcase their art, talent, and ideas.

Emerging artists will receive a $250.00 honorarium.
