Dear Media City Film Festival friends, allies, past volunteers and staff:

We hope you’re all doing well this spring!
Many of you recently participated as partners and viewers of Media City Film Festival’s 25th-anniversary virtual edition, which took place online Feb. 8 – Mar. 1, 2022. We’re happy to report that the event was a great success. More than 100,000 audience members joined us virtually during the festival’s run. We’re looking forward to hosting in person events in the future.

The board is now reaching out to friends, past collaborators, local arts organizations and volunteers with a plea for assistance to help us with local bingo fundraising. Our organization relies on charity bingos to provide much needed funds to continue the important work we do in our community.

MCFF is currently seeking individuals based in Windsor and Essex County who can volunteer their time for 2 hr. shifts at All Star Gaming Centre at 1385 Walker Road from May 2022 onward.

The commitment and duties are light, requiring volunteers to be present to greet patrons as they arrive at the bingo hall. A short 20 minute online training course is required before volunteering for us.

MCFF is in the process of building a roster of interested helpers we can count on to participate in these events. We’re canvassing for individuals and asking other local charities and arts organizations if they’d be willing to share volunteers between us and support making these vital fundraising events possible.

MCFF, like many local charities, relies on lottery fundraising as a key part of our annual budget, contributing to the many ways we continue to provide free, accessible and affordable film programming for audiences locally and globally (online and in person).

If you’re interested in volunteering, know of any students looking for credit opportunities, seniors who would like to give back, or can otherwise provide advice or support about individuals you think might be interested in helping, please email us! We’re happy to provide further information and dates.
c/o Oona Mosna/ MCFF Board:
We recognize it’s been a challenging time as we all adjust to the changing landscape of pandemic living. We’re hoping we can rely on each other to get through to the other side.
Thank you so much for your consideration. Feel free to circulate to those you think might be interested. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
