The Breaking Barriers exhibition’s focus is to create an understanding of lived experiences. The exhibition seeks to highlight resilience and resourcefulness in coping with barriers. A barrier can be anything that one must overcome to reach a goal, even if the goal is simply to survive. Breaking Barriers is an exhibition for creative expression that empowers, builds awareness, and facilitates partnerships and collaborations. DOWNLOAD YOUR ENTRY FORM HERE.
DEADLINE TO ENTER: September 21, 2019, 5pm 

 

Eligibility: This exhibition is open to all amateur, emerging, mid-career and established visual artists. All mediums accepted in 2D and 3D (watercolour, painting, photography, sculpture, textile, installations, etc. as well as poetry.)

Jurying: This is a non-juried exhibition. All artwork submitted will be displayed in the exhibit.

How to Submit:
1. Complete the Submission Form and deliver with the artwork to the LAC before the submission deadline. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.
2. Drop off Artwork (labeled and ready to hang) and Submission Form (complete and signed) BEFORE the deadline.
3. Pay Submission Fee (cash, cheque, debit, Visa or MasterCard)

Hanging & Labeling: All works MUST be ready for display. Artwork that is not ready will not be accepted. Artwork MUST be securely WIRED on back. Alligator teeth style hooks are NOT acceptable. All artwork must be clearly labeled on back with Name, Title, Medium and Sale Price using the included labels.

Submission Fee: A non-refundable administration fee of $8 for LAC members and $10 for non-members will apply for each artwork entered.

Delivery & Pick Up: Delivered and pick up of the artwork is the artist’s responsibility. All work must be delivered on or before the date listed in the schedule. Late artwork will not be accepted. Artwork not collected within 6 months of the exhibit end will become the property of the LAC.

Sale: All sales will be handled by the LAC. A commission of 25% for LAC members and 30% for non-members will be collected on all sales.
