City of Mississauga – Call to artists for Expressions of Interest
The City of Mississauga invites professional visual artists, designers, and fine craftspeople who have a connection to Mississauga to submit Expressions of Interest for the design and production of awards for the City of Mississauga Corporate Awards program. Designs in all mediums including clay, wood, glass, metal, ceramic, framed drawings or paintings, and more are accepted.
The Corporate Awards is an annual program designed to recognize outstanding achievements made by City staff in the areas of customer service, continuous improvement, leadership, environment, team effectiveness, partnership and corporate spirit. There are two different types of awards: the General Awards and the City Manager Awards. Artists are asked to propose a concept for the design of their awards that speaks to the values and vision of the City. Mississauga strives to be a dynamic and beautiful global city for creativity and innovation, with vibrant and connected communities. The City celebrates the rich diversity of our cultures, heritage, Indigenous communities, Lake Ontario and the Credit River valley.
Submission Deadline: November 26th, 2020 by 4pm
Up to three artists will be shortlisted and each provided with an honorarium of $750.00 CAD for the development of a prototype of their concepts in Stage 2, to be presented to the City in the week of January 11-15, 2021. The final selected applicant will be asked to design two (2) distinct awards and fabricate a minimum of 72 and up to a maximum of 200 awards in advance of the 2021 Corporate Awards Program in May 2021. The final number of awards to be produced will be confirmed in March 2021.
