The Corner Gallery at the Mews is offering a two-week exhibit for the period September 15-26, 2021. Entries are due by 5 PM on August 24, 2021 and the winner will be drawn and announced on August 27, 2021.

Entries from artists with inventory to show are encouraged.

The exhibit has to be accepted as awarded and is not transferable.

The winning artist can exhibit rent-free but is responsible for insurance and the refundable security deposit as described in the gallery’s standard contract, which the artist will need to sign. The artist is equally responsible for staffing the show.

Artist keeps 100% of any sales at our gallery.

The move-in date is September 15; the gallery can be open for showings Thursday to Sunday the first week and Tuesday to Sunday the second week. The gallery is closed on Mondays. Move-out is on the final Sunday between 5 and 7 PM.

The gallery space is 400 ft.² with loads of light and good street exposure.

To apply, send an email with “Entry for Exhibit Draw” in the subject line, plus provide your name, address, contact information (phone and email), type of art (2-D or 3-D) and size of pieces (approximate) plus 2 representative photos of your work. (The gallery needs to know a bit about the size of the pieces to make sure it’s a good fit.)

For insurance, artists can add a rider to their own insurance policy or purchase event insurance. Event insurance is offered by several brokers but rates vary, so check online and ask around. If no alcohol will be served, the insurance rate is lower. For staffing, gallery showings can be by appointment only to suit your schedule, or open-door, or a mix of both, depending on artist choice and schedule, as long as all activity occurs within the hours of operation for the building.
