DID YOU KNOW that there will be a total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024, and that Windsor-Essex will be in the path of totality? Walkerville Artists Collective was over the moon when we learned that our area will be one of the top spots in the world to see the eclipse, and in honour of this heavenly happening we will be hosting a stellar “Total Eclipse of the Art” exhibit at the WAC gallery.“Total Eclipse of the Art” will run from April 2 to April 14, and will feature a galaxy of celestial-themed artwork created by WAC artists as well as members of the Windsor-Essex community. All are invited to visit the gallery and gaze at the heavenly work on display, and join us for an open house on Saturday, April 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. to meet the stars of the show.
Are you a Windsor-Essex artist? If so, we invite you to take advantage of this once-in-a-blue-moon opportunity to showcase your talent and submit your celestial-themed artwork for display at our “Total Eclipse of the Art” show! All media is welcome, with a $10 entry fee for up to three pieces. Artwork must be framed and ready to hang or display, and dropped off at the WAC gallery no later than Saturday, March 30.
The WAC gallery (1295 Ottawa Street at Hall) is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10-6 and Sunday, 12-4, with one or more of our Member Artists always on hand to greet you. Hope to see you soon!
