Apply for a chance to spend the month of November 2020 in our three-bedroom Artist-in-Residence Suite in the Caetani heritage house!
Your room, the Fogliano Room, is a cosy, quiet bedroom with a desk and twin bed. You’ll get unlimited access to a private art studio (with a sink) in Caetani’s peaceful backyard.
This funded residency includes lodging and studio. The artist is responsible for all expenses related to their travel, art supplies, food and lifestyle. We’re located in the Okanagan Valley of BC – Canada’s fruit & wine country – with cross-country & downhill skiing a mere 25-minute drive away.
Here at the Caetani Cultural Centre, we believe that by offering artists time and space to deepen into their creative practice, away from the distractions of everyday life, everyone benefits.
Our call for applications is open to all kinds of creative folk, and is perfect for visual artists, writers, researchers and creative types, both emerging and established.
While this residency is open to a wide range of artistic disciplines, our assessment of applicants for this residency is based on how well the artist articulates their reasons for wanting to attend this particular residency, as well as how they articulate their intentions for their creative practice while in Vernon at the Caetani Cultural Centre.
Please note we’re a small process-based residency – we can’t offer significant access to specialized tools or equipment.

You’ll stay in a shared 3-bedroom Artist-in-Residence Suite at the Caetani Cultural Centre, a historic heritage house, within walking distance of main street in the small town of Vernon, BC, Canada.
Extras: if desired, after November, the selected artist can extend their stay in the Fogliano Room with studio for a mere $15/night. The artist will also have the opportunity (if desired) to teach a workshop and/or host a reading/presentation/etc. at no cost to them.
Not included in the residency: travel expenses, food, health insurance, art materials, shipping costs, exhibition costs and other personal expenses.
