APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY
At the time of submission, Applicants must be one of the following:
- ArtsPay Member* residing in Waterloo Region, or
- Secondary or Post-Secondary Student residing in Waterloo Region, or
- Professional Photographer residing in Guelph or Wellington County
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Deadline is by 6:00PM on Monday January 28, 2019
Only complete submissions received by deadline will be considered.
Art$Pay will be awarding a $250 honorarium to the People’s Choice!
IMAGES – What kind of photographic images can be submitted for WATERLOO MOVES?
What interests you as a photographer? This theme revolves around event sponsors, the City of Waterloo, and has to do with motion and movement. Submissions may involve over-exposure, multiple exposures, motion blur, panning etc. photography techniques and also more traditional photographic interpretations of the theme, about changes, history, transportation, dance, new citizens, nature and crowds as just a few examples. A UNIQUE PERFORMANCE EXHIBITION –FOR AUDIENCE & ARTISTS
The eight or nine photographers selected by jurors will be paired with their chosen ‘sound’ accompanist who will be asked to use their own medium to ‘react’ to that body of photographic artwork. The work of both will culminate in a joint public ‘performance’ involving the projected images while the accompanist performs on stage. Applicants are requested to indicate the solo accompanist which would best match their photography submission – a drummer, an actor, musician, singer, spoken word poet, DJ … ?
