Are you an artist/something else? Do you work in the arts but don’t always feel your creative pursuits are recognized/valued? Do you wish that people understood more about what it’s like to be an artist? I am looking to hear from as many artists as possible, including artists working in all field types. Whether you’re a musician, writer, performer, dancer, sculptor, administrator, curator, visual artist, or working in any other artistic field, I want to hear from you! This survey will reflect on 3 key areas: personal perspective, public perspective, and institutional perspective in the arts.I want this project to represent artists that have other identities and professions. I want this project to reflect disciplines that may not always be recognized. I am especially interested in hearing from anyone who has a hard time believing they are an artist because they aren’t working as one ‘full time’. I plan to utilize quotes, clips and anecdotes from the surveys for the installation but there will be no identifying information shared about your submission with the public.
