Generously sponsored by the Rotary Club of Leamington and the Kiwanis Club, the Leamington Arts Centre (LAC) presents the 2020 22nd annual Juried Student Art Show. This exhibition is open to ALL Essex County Secondary Students with a maximum of 10 entries per student in any of the following categories:
1. Painting (Acrylic, Oil, Watercolour, etc.)
2. Drawing (Pencil, Charcoal, Ink, etc.)
3. 3D & Sculpture (Clay, Found Objects, Wall Reliefs)
4. Photography (Analogue, Digital)
5. Mixed Media (Printmaking, Collage, Textiles, etc.)
6. Video & Filmmaking (Animation, Experimental, etc.)
7. New Media Art (Graphic Design, Digital Art, CGI, etc.)
How To Submit:
⓵ Clearly label all artwork with provided labels. Secure to bottom right corner of work.
⓶ Make sure work is ready for display (see notes below.)
⓷ Complete the Submission Form (linked below) and deliver with the artwork to the LAC before the submission deadline.
How To Prepare Work For Exhibit
All artwork should be well assembled and secure for hanging or free-standing. 2D artwork and photography on paper is best unframed. Stretched canvas and any other framed artwork MUST be securely WIRED on the back only. Canvas Boards do not require any wire. Video and Film works must be submitted on a USB, Dropbox or WeTransfer in MP4 or AVI formats.

Awards will be presented at the Opening Reception evening on Thursday April 16th at 7pm. Local media will be present, casual to formal dress attire is recommended for photo opportunities. For the pleasure and in the interests of all our visitors, everyone who visits the LAC will be permitted to cast 1 vote for their favourite in the exhibit. All the votes will be tallied up at the end of the exhibit.
Future Artist Award – $200
In honour of Marg Ross and the Late Don Ross, this award is granted to a graduating student who showcases the most potential as an artist or enthusiast and whom has demonstrated extraordinary support and patronage to the arts in the community. For those who choose to submit, students must write a 500-word short composition on their current involvement in the arts and describe their artistic goals for the future. Judging will be based on the composition and artwork submitted.
