9:30pm – Andrew MacLeod & Leigh Wallace
10:30pm – Mike Hargreaves (full band)
Born and raised a riverbank away from the birthplace of Motown, prolific Canadian singer-songwriter Mike Hargreaves has a lifetime of immersion in classic soul, R&B and popular music. With over a decade of experience crafting intelligent, compelling songs, Mike continues to re-define the sound of Canadian independent music.
Formerly the songwriting machine and singer of indie/pop group Michou and the creative force behind soul/rock band The Walkervilles, Mike has worked with world-renowned producers in famous studios across North America. Beginning his on-stage career as a teenager in punk/pop bands performing at all-ages venues throughout his hometown of Windsor and Essex county, Mike graduated from his local scene to emerge in his 20s as a rigorously touring Canadian musician, winning accolades and notoriety in the industry. His works have charted in the Top 100 in Canadian Rock Radio, reached #1 on the MuchMore Music Countdown, and won his band Michou the title of XM Radio The Verge’s Artist of the Year.
In 2021, Mike self-produced a collection of psychological work songs, Headspace, followed soon after by his decision to shed the Soul Brother Mike moniker under which he had performed since 2015, and returned to performing under his given name. Mike continues to serve as co-founder and arbiter of Soul City Music Co-op, a label currently supporting 8 local artists, and is hard at work on a new EP, exploring a fusion of genres including folk, jazz, rock, and soul, to be released later in 2022.
Andrew MacLeod and Leigh Wallace bring a high energy and harmony coated blend of folk, rock, country and blues that brings rooms to life each and every time. Combining choice covers with original compositions, MacLeod and Wallace are a nice break from your average jukebox musician. If you want to experience a story-telling environment and hear it all accompanied by tasteful musicianship that possesses edge, and plays off camaraderie, shared taste, and mutual respect, this is the duo you’re looking for. Always a good time and always two fellows who are genuinely glad to see you.
