Film Camp for Kids & Youth | Summer Day Camps
July 27 - September 18|Recurring Event (See all)Camp runs weekly Monday-Friday from 9AM-4:30PM all summer!
We are happy to announce that we are again offering summer in-person and virtual programs in July and August 2022. Since 2013, our filmmaking day camps will be offered Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, by age group. Participants are welcome to sign up for as many weeks as they wish. Each week is as different as the films so it is never the same experience.
-The week involves making a film in one week, including the writing, filming, acting and editing.
-Camp participants are grouped by age and no previous experience is required.
-Each film crew (team) has two staff Instructors, where possible a male and a female.
-Games and outings are also planned by instructors to give participants a break from movie-making.
-We understand that acting is not for everyone so camp participants can choose to work in front of the camera, behind the camera, or both.
-The camp supplies the equipment and materials, but the parents pack a nut-free lunch, sunscreen and water.
-Returning participants rotate groups so they make films with different staff Instructors and different participants.
Other Examples of Camps:
-Animation camps run similarly to film camps, and also vary week to week because the product changes as the groups do.
-Art camps are where participants learn all sorts of techniques. Depending upon the production or drying time, each day could mean learning a new form of art or it could be an extension of the day before – painting, drawing, crafts, and more. Each camp is different and parents can confirm the topics before registering.
-Writing camps often cover poetry, creative writing and screenwriting.
-Music camps focus on scoring music for video.
