Event Series Event Series (See All)

Under the exciting leadership of new Artistic Director Adam Adler, County Classic Chorale’s “All These Angels” concert will feature the music of acclaimed composers Leonard Bernstein and Ontario’s own Sarah Quartel at Faith Mennonite Church, Leamington, on May 4 (7pm) & 5 (3pm). Admittance by free-will offering. The Chorale, composed of singers from Windsor, Essex County and the U.S., will perform Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” in its original Hebrew (with projected subtitles), as well as his “Make Our Garden Grow” and West Side Story’s “Tonight.” Three guest performers (a Senior, a teenager and a young boy) will read passages to augment the Chorale’s performance of Quartel’s “Snow Angel.” The concert will also be joined by a cellist, percussionist and second accompanist to assist Collaborative Pianist Michael Oddy in weaving the complex instrumental themes into the choral harmonies.
The Chorale is in its 41st year of anchoring choral music in much of Essex County. Known for performance excellence, it is dedicated to promoting the highest standards of choral singing while seeking to bring music to communities we serve. Future plans include founding a youth choir, providing student/adult scholarships, and collaborating with even more arts organizations. We are seeking new members, no formal training required. See www.countyclassicchorale.ca and/or contact countyclassicchorale@gmail.ca.
