Reception for COLORS OF RESILIENCE: ARTWORK BY THOSE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS

“This project is something that was inspired by my time as a mental health worker and seeing the amount of talent that was overlooked because these folks don’t have access to the opportunities creatives who aren’t experiencing homelessness have.

Over the last few months and with the help of some friends, I’ve been plopping myself at the shelters and day programs around the city with supplies purchased through the grant, to give our folks an opportunity to make art stress free!” -Batool Yahya

ACWR will be hosting the “Colours of Resilience” exhibition from August 13-27 at Artspeak Gallery. The reception will take place August 18 from 5-11pm.
