On August 17th, both Art Windsor-Essex is extending its hours until 9pm for AWE at Night! Join us for an evening of art activities, community conversations, guided tours, delicious food and drinks, music, and summer vibes. Don’t miss out on the stunning views both inside and out!
Art Under the Microscope with UWindsor’s INCUBATOR Art Lab ⎮ 5pm – 9pm, 2nd floor, Education Studio 
Join facilitator Dunia Roba from INCUBATOR Art Lab and explore the world of microscopy and art by creating your own drawings inspired by what you see from under a microscope!
Spill the Tea! with COOK-UP⎮ 5pm – 9pm, 3rd floor, Valiant Suite 
What’s the tea? Steep yourself in a rainbow of flavours as we celebrate Windsor-Essex Pride Fest! Create your own tea blend inspired by nature’s flavours. Enjoy warm or chilled brews. This workshop is facilitated by COOKUP, a food business incubator working to cultivate equity in business ownership for women, primarily women of colour, in Windsor.
Natural Watercolours with Maria Simmons⎮ 6pm – 9pm, 3rd floor, Valiant Suite 
Did you know you can transform natural materials into watercolour paints? Learn how artist Maria Simmons forages and transforms natural elements into vibrant paint pigments. Create your own, or use paints to create your own landscape painting!
Pride in Education: A Community Conversation ⎮ 6:30pm – 7pm, 3rd floor galleries
Join us for a panel discussion on inclusivity, equality and inclusion in schools in Windsor-Essex. Our panel of speakers will offer bold and insightful responses to pressing issues in our region.
In Conversation: Karen Engle and Nadja Pelkey ⎮ 7pm – 7:30pm, 3rd floor galleries
Discover the new exhibition Lillian Schwartz: Whirlwind of Creativity presented in partnership with The Henry Ford Museum. Lillian Schwartz’s work is deeply tied to her experience with chronic illness, stemming from paralysis after polio. 

Karen Engle is a professor of Visual Culture at the University of Windsor. She is the author of Seeing Ghosts: 9/11 and the Visual Imagination, and co-editor of Feelings of Structure: Explorations in Affect. Karen will read from her new book, Chronic Conditions, part-memoir, part exploration of concepts of chronic illness in western culture. A discussion will follow about illness, disability and creative work.

Let’s celebrate! Head up to the third floor rooftop patio for music, food and drinks provided by Windsor Eats and CJAM 99.1 FM!
