On August 28th and 29th 2021, the Gibson Gallery Board Members will be hosting a scaled-back, in-person event on the grounds of Fort Malden National Historic Site in Amherstburg, Ontario with safety measures in place and following public health guidelines.

Walk the shores of the Detroit River and enjoy artists and artisans from across Ontario in Essex County’s original art and craft festival. The event will be held at Fort Malden NHSC rain or shine.

This year’s show will look a bit different to accommodate public health guidelines. This includes reduced capacity and one-way traffic flow of patrons to respect social distancing. There will be no food concessions on-site, no live entertainment, or live artists workshops to keep our patrons and volunteers safe. The 54th Annual Art by the River is the main fundraiser for the Gibson Gallery, which is run by a volunteer board of directors. The Gibson Gallery is the former Michigan Central Railway station that has been on Richmond Street since 1896 and houses an art gallery, artisan gift shop, a Michigan Central Caboose, and needlework and artists’ guilds.
