Sarah Smitherman
Board SecretarySarah Smitherman is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice consists of material explorations and the inclusion of found objects. Often, her work explores notions of place, time, and memory. Sarah is a two-time recipient of the Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund (ACHF) grant from the City of Windsor, and has received several other awards during her career. Her art has been displayed in exhibitions within Canada, Europe, and the United States. Occasionally, she develops and delivers workshops for her local art gallery (Art Windsor-Essex) which encourage community members to find inspiration in their everyday surroundings. In addition to being an artist, Sarah brings her passion for community service and prior experience as recording-secretary to ACWR’s board.
