Join Vanguard Youth Arts Collective for the Yoga Flow & Creative Reflection workshop. Facilitated by Sarah Shehadeh and a Vanguard member, the workshop will begin with a gentle, beginner-friendly yoga session focused on mindfulness and grounding. After the movement practice, participants will transition into a creative reflection period where they’ll be invited to explore their experience through freeform art-making.
Using a variety of art supplies, attendees will be encouraged to draw, paint, experiment, and play, letting their intuition guide them. This open-ended creative time is all about self-expression and processing through art, with no pressure or expectation of a finished product.
Thursday, October 23 | 6–9 PM @ ArtSpeak Gallery
This free workshop requires registration. Anyone between the ages of 16 and 29 are welcome to register! Please fill out this form to reserve your spot.
Support for this program was provided by the Solcz Family Foundation.

Sarah Shehadeh
Sarah, who is now based in Windsor ON, grew up in Amman Jordan, and became fascinated with drawing at an early age. This passion led to her receiving two degrees from the University of Jordan; a BA degree in Visual Arts – Painting and Drawing in 2021, and a Professional Diploma in Art Therapy in 2023. She became fond of the practice of healing with art and became dedicated to helping people express themselves and to resolve conflicts through artistic mediums. Her work is inspired by a wide range of sources from contemporary classical realism to magical realism, and the dynamism between reality and fantasy, as well as practicing the traditional painting techniques of the old masters. Two of her great passions in life are painting and art healing. Through her paintings, she seeks to express herself and bring out her own experiences as she sees them, and to share with others the beauty and diversity of how she turns the real world into a magical place where her soul lives.

Eleane Amador
Eleane (anglicized pronunciation: Ellie-Anne) is Windsor-based self taught mixed media artist. Their primary mediums include collage, sculpture, and painting. Her works honour her Nicaraguan background by illuminating the thin veil between dream and reality in the spirit of magical realism. Her recent works delve into the deconstruction folk Catholic beliefs and while celebrating the joys of immigrant families. Eleane has been a member of Vanguard Youth Arts Collective since 2024 and has participated in several community events including two exhibitions.
