The Art of Peter Bering
February 2 - February 8

Embark on a mind’s eye journey through the evocative and natural world of Peter Bering.

An opening night “Meet the Artist” event is scheduled for Monday, February 3rd at 6pm, and again at 6pm on closing night Saturday, February 8th.

My expressions often contain realistic imagery, but never to just imitate a camera. Rather, recognizable elements are used to symbolically evoke and exemplify a mood, thought, spirit, sensation, experience, energy, or atmosphere. Sometimes the symbolic evolutions are meant to reveal a lesson or story to the receptive mind’s eye. Because every human has taken a different life’s journey, the uniqueness of good art is that every viewer takes a different mind’s eye journey.”

During this one-week exhibition over 70 of Peter’s finest original pieces will available for viewing and purchase. Art prints and reproductions will also be for sale, along with a limited number of signed autobiographies, which shares his extraordinary story detailing his family surviving and escaping a concentration camp in Molidorf, Yugoslavia. An opening night “Meet the Artist” event is scheduled for Monday, February 3rd, starting at 6pm. Join us to celebrate the opening of this special solo exhibition. Peter and Audrey will be there in-person for both opening and closing night events to connect with attendees! We would be delighted to see friends, family, former students, colleagues, and anyone and everyone to come together to celebrate Peter’s artistry and life. Your support will mean the world to him!

About the artist:

“I am an artist and teacher with over 30 years educating youth in art and art history. My story originates in Molidorf, Jugoslavia – a place that no longer exists – and is shaped by surviving the unimaginable.

I first discovered my artistic roots as a young boy in a concentration camp creating images to entertain myself and other starving children. My first artistic supplies including a stick, my imagination and the sand or mud beneath my feet.

Surviving those hardships and immigrating to Canada in 1951 was a blessing that reignited an enforced love for life. In this new life, I became a husband, father, and a teacher of art and citizenship.

Each of my pieces reflects this enduring appreciation for life, etched with symbolism. Every work is accompanied by a written poem, story, or brief reflection, adding depth to the journey I aim to share.

I hope you enjoy exploring my Mind’s Eye Journey.” – Peter Bering
