Welcome to the Holiday Inn (Beirut)  

An exhibition by Anthony Youssef in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Architecture. 

April 3 – 9, 2022  

1 – 5 PM  

This exhibition explores the movement in the Holiday Inn Beirut’s socio-political narrative and traces the hotel’s transformation from a modernist icon, to a war apparatus, to an unintentional monument. Viewers are invited to enter and explore the Holiday Inn Beirut physically as a lived and experienced space. It is an exercise in learning how to construct meaning into space.
