Guiding us into the 1940s at the end of World War II, where many voices were being heard in music that birthed a cultural explosion, the results of which we continue to experience today. The band Trading Places and Friends will perform several musical selections created or made popular during that era.
American poet and social activist, Langston Hughes, a leader of the Harlem Renaissance, provided an enlightened conclusion….”We transformed something ugly into something beautiful, which we still enjoy and appreciate today.”
