About the Guest Speaker:

Dr. Bruce J.G. Kotowich
Bruce J. G. Kotowich, DMA, has just completed serving as the Interim Director of SoCA (School of Creative Arts) and continues as an Associate Professor of Music-Director of Choral Activities at the University of Windsor where he directs the University of Windsor Chamber Choir and USingers and teaches courses in Choral Techniques. In the Windsor-Essex community, He is the Chorus Master for the Windsor Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and the Artistic Director of the Windsor Classic Chorale, and the Windsor Choral Festival. Dr. Kotowich is on a 12 month sabbatical researching choral repertoire associated with Remembrance Day.
Dr. Kotowich is a sought-after clinician where he works with choirs, choir directors, performers, and members of the public who enjoy the arts and want a deeper experience of the artist’s process. Workshop topics address topics of musicianship and musicality, conducting technique, choral and applied vocal technique to vocal health and vocal production for members of the performing arts community.
His choirs have performed throughout North America, Europe, and China performing on major world stages including Carnegie Hall in New York City. He has presented at conferences and workshops including the Symposium for Singing and Song, Harbour Voices, Podium-Choral Canada, Iowa Choral Directors’ Association Summer Conference, the National Convention of the American Choral Directors’ Association, the NDSU Symposium: Music of the Americas, the North-Central Conference for ACDA, the World Choral EXPO in Lisbon, and North Pole Corner Stones. In addition to his conducting, and teaching Dr. Kotowich maintains a vocal performance career and has often performed with Windsor Symphony Orchestra.
Dr. Kotowich is published in the Choral Research Memorandum Series through Chorus America. In addition to his responsibilities at the University of Windsor, he is the former Editor-In-Chief of the Anacrusis, the Choral Journal of Canada for Choral Canada.
