The Arts Council Windsor & Region is proud to introduce a Senior Community Arts Program dedicated to empowering and engaging adults fifty and up. Through enriching workshops, skill-sharing activities, and a group exhibition at ArtSpeak Gallery, the program will foster creativity and meaningful connections. This free program will run monthly, from June 2025 – December 2025
This program is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.

A recital narrated and sung by Canadian soprano, Amelia Daigle
showcasing a wide range of styles, languages and time periods giving the audience a
glimpse into the rich history of opera!

Amelia Daigle
Winner of the 2015 National Opera Competition of Canada, soprano Amelia is
known for her rich, lyrical timbre and for “commanding time and space brilliantly
and elegantly” – Emerging Artist Reviews Toronto.
In 2021 Amelia formed a group by the name of Alma with her colleague, Daniel
Turner (guitar) which involves the exploration and performance of Spanish
Zarzuela, Opera and Art Song. The duo made its European debut at La Roche
D’Hys Summer Music Festival in Burgundy, France as well as The Camino Artes
Guitar Festival in Carrión de los Condes, Spain (Summer 2023). Alma has since
performed at The University of Windsor (January 2024), in Berlin, Germany in a
concert series hosted by luthier, Michael Batell (Sept 2024) and at Western
University on (October 2024).
In October Ms. Daigle had the pleasure of making her debut as Musetta in G.
Puccini’s La Bohème in Toronto with the opera company SOLO. Shortly after Ms.
Daigle returned home to perform with the WSO & Abridged Opera on their double
bill of Schubert’s Mass in G and G. Puccini’s opera Suor Angelica at the end of
November.
Upcoming engagements include joining the Windsor Symphony Orchestra
in March 2026 as their soprano soloist in Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
Ms. Daigle holds a MMus in Vocal Performance and Literature from Western
University and has received training at workshops such as Operavision Academy
(Italy, July 2018), Académie de la Roche D’Hys (France, July 2019 & 2023), and
Camino de Las Artes Music Festival (Spain, August 2023)
