This free workshop is intended for all creative disciplines and will cover:
- Understanding different types of artist income (grants, honorariums, art sales, and services) and how they are taxed
- Common deductible expenses and how to determine what you can claim
- Key tax considerations for artists, including GST/HST basics
- How to prepare for filing your income tax return (what information you need and how to stay organized)
- A simple overview of how tax software (such as TurboTax) works and how to approach filing step-by-step
- Practical tips to reduce tax stress and avoid common mistakes
