WINDSOR, ON) – Korda Artistic Productions’ 2026 season begins with the hilarious comedy Tartuffe. Written by the French genius Molière, Tartuffe tells the story of Orgon, a wealthy, gullible man, who invites into his home the seemingly pious and impoverished Tartuffe. It is not very long before Tartuffe reveals his true nature, attempting to seduce Orgon’s wife, marry Orgon’s daughter, and steal Orgon’s money and home. The rest of the household see through this hypocrite, but Orgon cannot, until it is very nearly too late.
The play, directed by Korda’s Resident Director Jeff Marontate, was written in 1664, and translated into modern English by Richard Wilbur, but this production has been set in the mid 1980s, when the so-called Moral Majority was rising in power and so many of their most famous figures were exposed as corrupt.
The talented cast features a host of Korda regulars: Peter Hrastovec as Orgon, Maggie Pinsonneault as his clever wife Elmire, Georgie Savoie as his naïve daughter Mariane, Gianluca Ieraci as his hotheaded son Damis, Kim Courtis as the strong-willed maid Dorine, Roula Khayat as Orgon’s overbearing mother Mme Pernelle, Riley Campbell as Elmire’s solid brother Cleante, Noah Ball as Mariane’s beloved Valere, Alex Alejandria as slimy lawyer M Loyal, Abbey Lee Hallet as a police office, Ren Brownlie as put-upon maid Flipote, Boris Gatackic as vulgar servant Laurent, and David Sivak in the title role of Tartuffe.
Costumes are by Carly Kelly; the set designed by Jeff Marontate; poster art is by Daneil Nolin, with online publicity materials designed by Christopher Menard.
Tartuffe runs January 30, 31, and February 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 & 14, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., and February 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. All performances are at The KordaZone Theatre, at 2520 Seminole. Tickets may be purchased at the door an hour before performances, or in advance online at https://www.showpass.com/kordatartuffe/.

“…an astonishingly delightful romp…” – New York Post.
“Stylish, bright, saucy.” – New York Journal-American.
“…a rollicking evening of grace and fun.” – Newsday (NY).
“I was taught in Theatre History class that 17th century France was full of balloons, and Moliere was walking around with a pin,” says Director Jeff Marontate. “We need more pins like that today in a world overrun with bloated hot-air-filled balloons!”
