MEDIA CITY FILM FESTIVAL CELEBRATES 27TH VIRTUAL EDITION WITH 70+ CINEMATIC TREASURES FROM AROUND THE WORLD STREAMING GLOBALLY FOR FREE
Media City Film Festival (MCFF), Windsor-Detroit’s annual international festival for film and digital art, will launch its 27th virtual edition program, December 9–30, 2024
This rare and generous offering will showcase more than 70 films, including nearly 50 virtual world premieres, assembling a chorus of cinema’s most groundbreaking practitioners from around the world. In an act of global solidarity and accessibility, all feature-length and short films will be available to view for free in full open access for the duration of this expansive online event: mediacityfilmfestival.com
MCFF 2024 highlights an amazing selection of new films, world premieres, digital restorations, and historical masterpieces from legendary, award-winning, and emerging artists, including Artavazd Péléchian, Madeleine Hunt–Ehrlich, Mona Hatoum, Kamal Aljafari, Richard Serra, Jocelyne Saab, Ja’Tovia Gary, Toshio Matsumoto, Sharon Lockhart, Mustafa Abu Ali, Skip Norman, Rose Lowder, Akram Zaatari, Sky Hopinka, Harun Farocki, Little Egypt Collective, Kevin Jerome Everson, Suneil Sanzgiri, and dozens more. Highlights hail from Windsor-Detroit, Armenia, Colombia, Hong Kong, Palestine, Iran, Brazil, Japan, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, across Canada, and around the world. Audiences can access cinematic treasures streaming across the program’s three sections: International, Spotlight, and Regional.
The festival’s rich and varied program also features much more. The program will be available to view, at no charge and with no registration, through December 30, 2024. MCFF’s site construction is expertly developed, designed, and managed by Spellerberg Associates and CineSend for your screening pleasure.
MCFF 2024 is presented in partnership with 40+ local and international partners. We highly recommend that you visit these spaces, virtually and in person. MCFF plans to present an in-person festival in 2025. Stay tuned!
