Installation Based on Space Workshop
August 1 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Cost: Free
In this hands-on workshop, participants will choose a specific spot inside or outside the gallery and respond to its physical, emotional, or spatial qualities. Through sketching, constructing, and abstract thinking, they will transform their personal interpretations of that space into a small-scale installation using simple materials. The goal is not to recreate the space, but to translate its atmosphere, energy, and textures into a form that feels like the space. Participants are encouraged to think with their senses what feels heavy, quiet, chaotic, warm and let those impressions guide their process. This workshop is hosted by Niku Koochak as part of her residency for the Creatives at Work Artist Residency Program.
- Drop-in on Friday August 1st from 1-5pm @ ArtSpeak Gallery
- Free, all materials provided!
This Creatives at Work Artist Workshop is supported by the Arts Council Windsor & Region, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Centre, and the City Market Windsor.
